Flow to surface

The calculation of transport properties and estimation of phase behaviour are required for modelling flow to surface. Within the reservoir, phase viscosities and liquid and gas volumetrics are key parameters for determining multiphase flow. In undersaturated oil systems, ashphaltene deposition can cause serious production problems.

The pressure and temperature drops within production tubing can lead to wax deposition, hydrate formation, and when condensate and oil streams are mixed asphaltene dropout. Understanding these complex phase behaviours can only be achieved by devising a careful sampling program, and performing specialist PVT studies. Such complex phase behaviours can all be modelled using our in-house software, which is also able to model multiphase flow pipeline pressure drops and Joule-Thompson temperature drops.
